Scholarships for Young Republican Women
|
|
To better reflect the choices we have in education today, our club has
expanded the scope of Gladys Harrington
Scholarship eligibility. All graduating High School
Senior females who currently attend a public, private or home school within the boundaries
of the Plano Independent School District are eligible, or they must be a resident of Plano
and attend a private or home school

outside of the Plano Independent School (example: Applicant lives in Plano and
attends Hockaday).
In addition to the high school awards, we are offering our Dixie
Clem Scholarship ($500.00)
to a woman currently attending an institution of higher learning, such as a community college
or a university.
Applicants must submit the appropriate application, and a Five hundred (500)
word essay on Republican ideas. The Dixie Clem Scholarship applicants may attend college
out of state as long as they are registered to vote in Collin County. Applications may be

by May 15, 2008. Winners will be selected anonymously based on committee choice of essay.
Gladys Harrington winners will be announced at the June meeting of the Conner Harrington
Republican Women. The Dixie Clem application deadline is May 31, 2008. The winner will be
awarded the scholarship at the November club meeting.
